Join a team of hard-core designers and engineers who conceptualize and deliver secure electronic products from the ground up. The successful candidate will work on embedded software/firmware systems, application design, development, and testing for high-performance security products. The candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in software design, development, integration, and testing, preferably in a leadership role, and possess strong knowledge in software development.

The candidate must be able to translate requirements into technical specifications and independently architect software systems. They will also provide leadership, technical guidance, and support to software team members to successfully deliver firmware/software systems for projects.

Responsibilities

• Software (SW) / firmware (FW) design, development, unit testing, integration and system level testing
• Interact with external customers and/or internal stakeholders to understand the requirements and be responsible for formulating the products to meet these requirements
• Translate the requirements into technical specifications
• Architect SW system for product based on technical specifications
• Design, develop and test SW / FW modules for products
• Responsible for integration of the SW modules with other SW module(s) developed by other project team members, as well as supporting and/or carrying out system level testing
• Prepare SW / FW binaries necessary for manufacturing, if applicable
• Write technical documentation, including user guides and/or manuals
• Review SW design, as well as source code, written by other members of the software team
• Review software architecture, unit integration and system tests plans, and test reports
• Provide SW support for product qualification and/or certification activities when required
• Adhere to the Engineering department’s design, development and testing processes

Requirements

• At least 5 years working experience in software design, development and testing, preferably in a lead position
• Proficiency in bash scripting, C/C++ or Rust and Python
• Experience with software design, development and testing on embedded Linux platforms
• Understanding of packaging, release and distribution of applications on Ubuntu platforms
• Knowledge of network protocols, network switching/routing, network segmentation
• Familiarity with software life cycle development methodologies and secure coding principles
• Excellent teamwork skills and able to collaborate in cross-functional team
• Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English
• Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously

Good to Have

• Knowledge of DevOps platforms and CI/CD tools, e.g. GitLab, Docker
• Experience with full-stack web app development
• Knowledge of TypeScript, ReactJS and Electron
