Attachment to Engine line

 

As part of the learning process, the Engineer would be first attached to the Engine Line (Assembly / Disassembly) to understand Engine Fundamentals eg work scoping, engine test cell run - performance analysis, engine troubleshooting, understand engine hardware and it’s function etc.  This attachment exercise is for better understanding of the product type and its criticality when crossing over to do part repair.

 

Key Job Accountabilities:

 

(1) Process / Product Type

  • In-charge of at least two repair processes and two product type
  • Troubleshoot process issues
  • Resolve daily production issues
  • Technical Queries to OEM or Customer
  • Assist in process investigation
  • Writing worksheets for piece job pertaining to assigned process
  • Generate process and qualify parameters
  • Process improvements
  • Cost Savings
  • Basic trending for process parameters
  • In charge of product type and rotate
  • Link up with Authorities on matters pertaining to processes

 

(2) Capability Setup

  • To do First Article on new ESM repair procedures, SBs
  • To do Capability Setup on new equipment or processes
  • To do Capability Setup on new equipment or processes
  • Carry out Tooling Review and Control
  • Do submission for capability declaration

 

(3) Documentation

  • Publication Review (ESM, SB, ADs, TR, IC) including process specification (AMS, ASTM, BS)
  • Worksheet amendments
  • In-house specifications amendments
  • Publication Review (ESM, SB, ADs, TR, IC)
  • Review Manual updates
  • Prepare FMM for machine
  • Prepare Aviation HIRA for processes

 

(4) Operation Support

  • Provide Tech support to Operation
  • Raise TVR, CDR for engine repair
  • Raise TM, EB, EN
  • Attend, resolve and smoothened operations flow
  • Review, investigate and provide solutions to Open Reporting issues raised by operation

 

(5) Investigation

  • Assist in Investigation of engine component issues
  • Carry out root cause analysis, provide recommendations for corrective and preventive measures
  • Follow up on investigation details and ensure no re-occurrence

 

(6) Troubleshooting

  • Resolve repair processes issues

 

(7) Training

  • Carry out training on repair processes and associated Standard practices
  • Carry out training for first article processes

 

Required Experience and Qualifications:

 

  • Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering
  • Have undergone at least 2 – 3 years of the on the job training
  • Have demonstrated consistent and sustainable cost improvement at least 5x annual salary
  • External Candidates must have at least 5 years working experience in Propulsion Engines and Components MRO Environment to be independent contribution
  • Strong Fundamentals in Engineering Drawing interpretations.
  • Understanding of Repair Processes is an added advantage
  • Some Understanding of regulatory NDT Requirements
  • Some Understanding of FAA 45 /EASA 145 regulations
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
