Key Responsibilities

1. Engineering Support for Test Cell Operations during Engine Runs

  • Provide engineering support for test cell systems during engine test runs.
  • Collaborate closely with Test Cell Engineers, Engine Type Test Support Engineers (TSEs), Operations, Facilities, Calibration teams, and Test Cell OEMs to troubleshoot faults encountered during engine runs and rectify test cell-related defects.
  • Perform hands-on troubleshooting and independently diagnose test cell system defects in accordance with OEM manuals and under the guidance of the Test Cell Engineer.
  • Document defects, particularly those related to engine performance, for trending analysis and audit purposes.
  • Monitor, manage, and minimize test cell downtime to support operational efficiency.
  • Maintain adequate inventory levels of critical spare parts, especially those with long procurement lead times.

2. Maintenance and Calibration Support

  • Provide technical support and work closely with the Maintenance team in the execution of scheduled test facility maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with the Calibration team to support test cell calibration activities and ensure system accuracy and compliance.

3. Documentation and Technical Records Management

  • Maintain accurate records of defects, particularly engine performance-related issues, for analysis, reporting, and audit requirements.
  • Assist the Test Cell Engineer in translating maintenance requirements from Test Cell Manuals into Facility Maintenance Manual (FMM) worksheets.
  • Update engineering drawings and Test Cell manuals to reflect modifications and improvement works carried out.
  • Perform backup and maintenance of Data Acquisition and Control (DAC) system data.
  • Raise and coordinate technical queries with Test Cell OEMs when required.

4. Procurement and Contractor Management

  • Support the Test Cell Engineer in identifying, evaluating, and engaging potential suppliers and contractors.
  • Work with vendors and contractors to define and finalize technical specifications for spare parts and project scopes.
  • Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQ) and raise Purchase Orders (PO).
  • Coordinate and manage contractor activities within the Test Cell facility, including review of Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) documents, preparation of contractor undertaking forms, and facilitation of security clearances.

Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • Diploma, Higher NITEC, or Technical Certification in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience

  • Preferably 3 years of relevant working experience in a test cell, industrial maintenance, or similar technical environment.
  • Experience within the aviation or aerospace industry will be an added advantage.

Preferred Competencies

  • Strong troubleshooting and fault diagnosis skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a hands-on technical environment.
  • Familiarity with test cell systems, instrumentation, control systems, and OEM technical documentation.
  • Good technical documentation and record-keeping skills.
  • Strong coordination and stakeholder management abilities across internal teams, OEMs, suppliers, and contractors.
