Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Aerospace MRO Painter to join our dynamic team in providing high-quality maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services for aircraft in Singapore. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the aesthetic and protective coating of aircraft meets the highest standards of quality and compliance with both local and international regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Surface Preparation: Clean, sand, and mask aircraft parts or structures, preparing them for painting.

  • Painting & Coating: Apply a variety of coatings, paints, and finishes to aircraft, ensuring even application and adherence to specifications.

  • Inspection & Quality Control: Conduct thorough inspection of painted surfaces for defects such as runs, streaks, and imperfections. Correct any issues to meet strict quality standards.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all painting tasks comply with Singapore’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAAS) regulations, as well as international standards (e.g., FAA, EASA).

  • Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate records of time, materials, and completion details for each task, in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Safety & Environment: Adhere to safety guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and ensure proper ventilation during the painting process to mitigate exposure to chemicals.

  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine checks and maintenance of painting tools and equipment, including spray guns and brushes, to ensure optimal performance.

  • Collaboration: Coordinate with the MRO team, supervisors, and engineers to resolve any painting-related issues and ensure timely project completion.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: At least 2 years of hands-on experience in aerospace painting within an MRO environment. Experience with both commercial and military aircraft is advantageous.

  • Certifications:

    • Certification in painting, coatings, or surface treatment (e.g., NACE, SSPC) is an added advantage.

  • Skills:

    • Proficient in operating painting equipment such as spray guns and sanders.

    • Knowledge of the various coating systems and materials used in aerospace applications.

    • Familiarity with safety and regulatory standards, including CAAS and international aviation safety standards (FAA, EASA).

    • Strong attention to detail and quality control, with a focus on precision in all painting work.

    • Strong team player with the ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with automated painting systems or robotic-assisted painting technologies.

  • Familiarity with military aircraft coatings and specialized applications.

  • Knowledge of green/eco-friendly coatings and sustainability practices within aerospace painting.


Work Environment:

  • Workplace: MRO hangar environment, with exposure to aircraft maintenance and overhaul operations.

  • Physical Demands: The role requires the ability to move and lift objects, work in paint booth and stand for long periods.

  • Health & Safety: Full adherence to workplace safety standards and the use of PPE (e.g., respirators, protective clothing) is required. Compliance with local workplace health and safety laws is paramount.
