About the Role
As a Senior Technician, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the maintenance, repair, and operational functionality of aircraft hydraulic systems. You will utilise your expert technical knowledge and hands-on skills to ensure that all mechanical equipment and components meet stringent industry standards and safety requirements. This position requires proactive problem-solving abilities to diagnose issues efficiently and implement effective solutions, thereby contributing directly to the reliability and safety of aerospace operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake complex mechanical maintenance tasks, inspections, and repairs directly on aerospace machinery and systems, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Lead and mentor junior technicians, providing guidance and sharing technical expertise to foster a collaborative team environment.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, quality assurance, and operational teams to optimise maintenance protocols and to support ongoing engineering projects.
- Analyse technical data and documentation to recommend improvements in mechanical systems or maintenance procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections using company internal reporting systems.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and safety standards within the department.
- Ensure compliance with all occupational health and safety policies, promoting a safe work environment for all team members.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and experienced technician with a strong background in aerospace mechanical systems. Demonstrable ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team will be essential. You will bring excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective interaction with team members at all levels and contributing positively to divisional objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant technical qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Technology, or a closely related field. Diploma preferred.
- Experience working in an aerospace environment, particularly involving complex mechanical systems would be advantegeous.
- Strong competence with diagnostic tools and maintenance technology used within aerospace maintenance operations.
- Health, safety, and environmental (HSE) awareness and training pertinent to aerospace workflows.
