Title:  Application Engineer (Automation & Robotics)

Job Description Summary: The responsibilities of the Application Engineer for Technology & Transformation is to assist and support in application development of various automation & robotics system to help increase the productivity and efficiency of the MRO + OE & Manufacturing areas. The goals are to help ensure proper execution and adoption of systems in projects & help to eliminate high labor content non-value work. The candidate will work in ST Engineering Commercial Aerospace: Innovation and Sustainability – Technology & Transformation office and its Transformation Centre of Excellence.

Qualifications/ Requirements:

• Any track records (school or pervious company projects) of prototyping, or project work for automation (& robotics) in MRO or Mfg environment.
• Experience in automation / robotics software
• Good knowledge experience using 3D modeling software such as Solidworks, Creo or NX
• Good understanding of material selections, machined part fabrication and processes
• Good understanding of PLC systems
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical skills
• Able to perform work under relatively stressful environment.
• Knowledge of industrial robots (robot arm, mobile robot, etc.) applications would be an advantage
• Experience in machine programming (control and/or vision) is a plus
• No work experience required
