We are looking for a UAV Energy and Propulsion Engineer to join our engineering development team to design safe, reliable, and industry use-case orientated UAV systems. Your main responsibility will be to size, design, test, integrate and qualify electrical energy and propulsion systems into our UAV systems.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Perform sizing and system design of electrical energy storage and propulsion system for multirotor and fixed-wing UAV.
  • Develop, improve, and maintain high fidelity models of the energy and propulsion systems.
  • Source and select appropriate electrical energy storage and propulsion components.
  • Perform energy and propulsion component tests, system integration tests, and qualification tests.
  • Evaluate and improve energy and propulsion system based on industrial trends and test data.
  • Resolve issues with UAV energy and propulsion system.
  • Generate and maintain technical documents including energy and propulsion system design, test plans, procedures, and reports. 
  • Work with system, mechanical, and hardware team to assess energy and propulsion requirement feasibilities, propose alternatives, and present design to management, regulatory authorities, and customers.
  • Keep abreast of industry developments in UAV energy and propulsion system.
  • Liaise with local and overseas vendors for procurement and technical support.

 

 

Requirements

 

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Relevant bachelor’s or post graduate degree in Engineering with good background or experience in air vehicle power & propulsion and engineering physics in the mechanical, electrical, and thermal disciplines.
  • Well-versed in modelling and simulation software such as Simulink.
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical and conceptual skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to work both independently and as a team.
  • Prior experience in UAV industry will be helpful.
