Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated UAV Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team based at Aero - 540 Airport Road. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on advanced UAV platforms, focusing on the design, development, integration, and testing of unmanned aerial systems. As a key member of our UAV/Systems Engineering Group, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and innovative systems that meet stringent industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and integrate UAV systems including avionics, control systems, communication modules, and mission payloads.
- Conduct system-level analysis, simulation, and testing to validate functional and performance requirements.
- Collaborate closely with software, hardware, and mechanical engineering teams to ensure seamless system integration and optimize overall UAV performance.
- Support the entire product lifecycle from conceptual design through to production and in-service support.
- Develop technical documentation, including specifications, system architecture diagrams, test plans, and reports.
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability and safety.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements related to unmanned aerial systems.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Proven experience in UAV system design, integration, and testing within a professional engineering environment.
- Strong knowledge of avionics systems, embedded systems, sensors, and communication protocols.
- Familiarity with systems engineering principles, tools, and methodologies.
- Experience with simulation and modelling software applicable to UAV systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Effective communication skills for clear documentation and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
