We are seeking an experienced and versatile Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, optimise, and secure our database infrastructure across multiple platforms and environments. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in both traditional and emerging database technologies, with hands-on experience in automation, performance tuning, and cloud-based solutions.

• Implement and manage databases in accordance with designs and specifications provided by technical teams.
• Deploy and configure data storage solutions across relational, NoSQL, and cloud environments.
• Recommend and apply tuning strategies and operational improvements to enhance performance and efficiency.
• Manage cloud-hosted database services, optimising for cost, availability, and scalability.
• Define and enforce data lifecycle policies, covering data retention, archival, and deletion.
• Develop and maintain robust backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
• Maintain database security, access control, and compliance with organisational and regulatory standards.
• Automate routine administrative and monitoring tasks using scripting and automation tools.

Qualities We Value

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in database administration across various architectures.
• Proficient in Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or equivalent.
• Experience with systems such as Cassandra, MongoDB (preferred).
• Familiarity with AWS S3, Nutanix Object Store, or similar technologies (preferred).
• Knowledge of Neo4j or similar, including relevant query languages (preferred).
• Strong foundation in query optimisation, indexing strategies, and database performance tuning.
• Understanding of retention, archival, and disposal strategies.
• Proficient in automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) for administrative efficiency.
