Job Brief

 

We are seeking a Senior Engineer (Technical Operations – Cloud, Security & Monitoring) to support daily operations across cloud platforms, security systems and network management tools. This role ensures stable and secure services through monitoring, troubleshooting and maintenance activities. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and vendors to maintain high service availability for enterprise customers.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

Cloud Operations

  • Support and maintain private and edge cloud platforms (e.g., OpenStack, OpenShift, VMware,OLVM, Nokia Container Service).
  • Carry out system monitoring, patching, upgrades and troubleshooting.
  • Automate routine operational tasks where possible (e.g., log collection, health checks).
  • Maintain clear and updated documentation on configurations and processes.

 

Security Operations

  • Operate and maintain security platforms including firewalls, WAF, IDS/IPS, VPN, endpoint protection, PAM, DDoS protection and AD/TACACS.
  • Respond to security alerts and incidents, conduct basic investigations and prepare reports.
  • Assist with vulnerability checks, compliance monitoring and implementation of patches or fixes.
  • Maintain operational procedures, playbooks and baseline configurations for security systems.

 

Monitoring & NMS Operations

  • Operate Call Managers, DNS, Load Balancers and monitoring platforms (SolarWinds, Zabbix, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK).
  • Review alerts, investigate issues and escalate when needed.
  • Use simple scripting (Python, Shell) to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Support on-call/standby duties and ensure timely incident response.

 

Operational Support & Collaboration

  • Work with internal teams and vendors to resolve technical issues.
  • Keep operational documentation accurate and up to date.
  • Contribute to improvements in processes and service stability.

 

Role Requirements

 

  • Diploma or Degree in IT, Computer Science, or Engineering.
  • 3–6 years’ experience in IT operations with involvement in Cloud, Security, and Monitoring/NMS environments.
  • Knowledge in:
    • Cloud: OpenStack, OpenShift, VMware, Kubernetes, or similar platforms.
    • Security: Firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, endpoint protection, DDoS protection.
    • Monitoring: SolarWinds, Zabbix, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with scripting (Python, Shell) for operational tasks.
  • Working knowledge of networking (routing, switching)
  • Professional certifications such as Red Hat OpenStack/OpenShift, VMware VCP, AWS/Azure Associate, CEH, or vendor-specific firewall certifications (e.g., Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto PCCSA) will be an advantage.
  • Good problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Able to support 24/7 standby/on-call duties when required.
