Title: Equipment Engineer
Elect – 100 Jurong East Street, SG
Key Responsibilities:
1. Preventive Maintenance (PM):
- Lead and execute preventive maintenance strategies with technician team for all critical production equipment.
- Monitor equipment performance to identify potential issues and implement solutions to reduce downtime.
- Develop and update PM schedules and ensure compliance with maintenance procedures.
2. Troubleshooting and Major Equipment Downtime:
- Provide technical expertise in diagnosing and troubleshooting complex equipment issues during major breakdowns.
- Lead root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Support the repair and maintenance team during critical equipment down situations.
3. Equipment Down Reporting:
- Track and report on equipment downtime, analysing data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Prepare detailed reports on equipment failures, downtime reasons, and actions taken to minimize future disruptions.
4. Production Planning Support:
- Assist in production planning by coordinating equipment availability and maintenance schedules to minimize impact on production timelines.
- Collaborate with production teams to optimize equipment usage and throughput.
5. New Material Qualification:
- Work closely with the QC team to qualify new materials and ensure they meet required specifications.
- Coordinate testing and evaluation processes for new materials, providing technical input to ensure compatibility with existing equipment.
6. Work Instructions and Process Improvement:
- Develop, review, and update detailed work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and maintenance manuals for equipment operation and repair.
- Ensure that work instructions are clear, comprehensive, and easy to follow for both operators and technician team.
7. Spare Parts Management:
- Manage spare parts inventory for critical equipment, ensuring optimal stock levels and fast access to required parts.
8. Machine Improvement & Optimization:
- Continuously evaluate production equipment for potential improvements, such as upgrades or modifications
- Lead initiatives to optimize existing equipment, reduce maintenance costs, and improve overall production efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Preferably with Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in engineering roles focused on equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, production support, or similar fields.
- Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance techniques, troubleshooting complex equipment issues, and working with various industrial systems and machinery.
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system issues
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure timely completion of equipment improvement projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in preparing reports, work instructions, and technical documentation.
- Full-time, on-site position located at Tampines.
- Occasional travel to other company sites may be required.
