About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Programme Management Office to lead our Wheeled Platforms Business programme operations. This key leadership position is responsible for driving tender requirements, ensuring seamless execution of programmes post-award, and maintaining strong customer relationships. You will oversee a dedicated team that manages tender submissions, programme status updates, customer support, and business development collaborations, contributing directly to the strategic growth and success of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret tender requirements and develop effective winning strategies and Programme Review Cycles that align with customer expectations and organisational goals.
• Lead the preparation and submission of comprehensive proposals, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and compliance with all tendering procedures.
• Direct and chair the monthly Programme Management Review to monitor progress, identify risks, and ensure timely delivery of programme milestones.
• Guide and motivate the STE Programme Team, facilitating productive Programme Management Team meetings with customers to align on objectives, resolve issues and foster collaboration.
• Engage proactively with customers to solicit feedback, address concerns efficiently, and implement action plans to close all feedback loops effectively.
• Collaborate closely with the International Business teams to shape and execute business strategies focused on export growth and market expansion.
• Establish and maintain robust communication channels with internal stakeholders and customers to ensure transparency of programme status and promote alignment across all levels of the organisation.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives within the PMO framework to enhance programme delivery capabilities and operational excellence.
• Mentor and develop team members to build a high-performance culture rooted in accountability, innovation, and customer focus.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate should bring proven leadership in programme management within complex, high-value industrial or defence-related projects, preferably with exposure to wheeled platforms or related systems. Strong strategic thinking and negotiation skills are essential to formulate winning tenders and maintain competitive advantage. Excellent communication skills are required for effective stakeholder management and team leadership. A collaborative mindset with experience working in matrixed organisations and multicultural environments will be advantageous.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Degree in Engineering, Business, or related disciplines is preferred.
• Extensive experience in programme management, proposal development, and customer engagement within the defence, aerospace, or heavy vehicle industries.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate complex projects successfully.
• Sound understanding of tender processes, contract management, and export business development.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Competence in using project management and reporting tools.
