Description:

ST Engineering Land Systems Ltd., Smart Systems Centre, is seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Engineer to join our innovative team. This role is integral to advancing cutting-edge engineering solutions that support our commitment to excellence and technological leadership in land systems.

Role Overview

We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented Embedded Software Engineers to design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software for microcontroller- and processor-based systems. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams—including hardware, systems, and test engineers—to deliver smart systems solutions that meet stringent performance, reliability, and quality standards.

Engineers in this role will contribute to the design and implementation of advanced embedded solutions, support system integration, and help drive innovation across complex defence and commercial projects. A strong focus on technical excellence, robustness, and reliability is essential to ensure successful project outcomes.

Experience or exposure to automotive or industrial communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, or FlexRay, or related embedded systems, will be a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain embedded software using C/C++
  • Implement, test, and debug firmware on bare‑metal or RTOS‑based systems
  • Support board bring‑up, low‑level driver development, and system integration
  • Perform debugging and root‑cause analysis using tools such as JTAG, debuggers, and logic analyzers
  • Contribute to technical documentation, code reviews, and software best practices

Required Skills and Experience

  • Strong fundamentals in embedded systems and microcontroller architectures
  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming
  • Experience with embedded communication interfaces such as UART, SPI, and I²C
  • Familiarity with embedded debugging tools and development workflows
  • Working knowledge of RTOS concepts is an advantage
  • Experience or exposure to automotive CAN bus or related protocols (LIN, FlexRay)
  • Familiarity with automotive or safety‑critical systems is a plus
  • Experience using Git and structured software development processes
  • Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills
