Title:  Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description:

• Collaborate with a team of engineers to reviews /implements project/ job specification
• Understand client requirements and how they translate to engineering features
• Adopt design approach such as hypothesis generation, project design and planning, calculations, material preparation, characterisation and testing, compilation of results and analysis evaluation
• Initiate market research and propose design changes to the device to improve user experience: Compactness, durability, cost savings, efficiency
• Utilise CAD design to improve product performance, such as heat dissipation, reducing material volume and adherence to DFM/DFA principles.
• Develop technical documents and handbooks
• Provide technical advice to the team as required
• Provide technical assistance during acceptance at clients’ site

Job Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Strong fundamental knowledge in mechanical design
• Able to work Independently under minimum supervision and exhibit proactiveness in learning
• Hands-on experience in drafting CAD drawing using design software such as Solidworks, AutoCAD or Autodesk Fusion 360 preferred 
• Good knowledge in heat transfer and fluid dynamics 
• Knowledge in product design and design methodologies including human factors in design
• Basic understanding of different production technologies such as sheet metal, milling and casting, moulding and 3D printing.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
• Good interpersonal, management and decision-making skills
