Job Description Summary

Overview: As a Vehicle Homologation Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that our vehicles comply with all relevant regulatory and legal requirements in the markets where they are sold. This role requires a deep understanding of automotive regulations, standards, and certification processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and regulatory affairs, to ensure that our vehicles meet all necessary homologation and certification standards.

Key Job Accountabilities

  1. Regulatory Compliance:
    • Stay abreast of current and upcoming automotive regulations, standards, and certification requirements globally.
    • Interpret and communicate regulatory requirements to internal teams.
    • Ensure that vehicle designs and modifications comply with local, regional, and international standards.
  1. Certification Process:
    • Manage the entire homologation and certification process for new and existing vehicle models.
    • Collaborate with external testing agencies and regulatory bodies to facilitate the approval process.
    • Prepare and submit required documentation for regulatory approvals.
  1. Testing and Validation:
    • Plan and coordinate vehicle testing activities to validate compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Analyze test results and work with engineering teams to address any non-compliance issues.
    • Develop and maintain testing protocols to ensure ongoing compliance.
  1. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with design, engineering, and manufacturing teams to integrate regulatory requirements into the product development process.
    • Collaborate with regulatory affairs professionals to navigate the complex landscape of regional and global regulations.
  1. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Prepare and maintain accurate records of homologation and certification processes.
    • Generate reports for internal and external stakeholders detailing compliance status and any necessary corrective actions.
  1. Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement in the homologation and certification workflow.
    • Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in vehicle homologation.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in vehicle homologation, certification, or regulatory affairs within the automotive industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of global automotive regulations and standards (e.g., FMVSS, ECE, CCC).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
