Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Workshop Assistant Manager to lead and oversee fleet vehicle maintenance operations. This role requires strong leadership, operational oversight, and coordination capabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient workshop performance, high fleet reliability, and the achievement of operational targets, service standards, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage daily workshop operations, including planning, scheduling, and supervising maintenance and repair activities to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely procurement, effective resource allocation, and smooth execution of fleet-related projects.
- Monitor and manage fleet maintenance budget and P&L, ensuring cost efficiency, financial control, and optimal resource utilization.
- Maintain accurate and timely records, reports, and documentation of all maintenance activities and operational performance.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and enhance fleet reliability.
- Lead, coach, and supervise workshop staff, driving productivity, performance, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Support management in operational planning, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Engineering, Automotive, Electrical, or a related field.
- Experience in fleet management, vehicle maintenance, or workshop operations, with familiarity in fleet management systems and related tools.
- Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills, with proven ability to manage multiple priorities, lead and supervise teams, and effectively coordinate with stakeholders across all levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), with the ability to analyse data and prepare reports.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines.
- Valid Class 3 driver’s license.
