Responsibilities

  • Secure System Development: Design and implement Cross Domain Solutions components that enforce strict data flow control and security policies across classified/unclassified domains.
  • Protocol Handling: Develop and optimize secure communication features across OSI Layers 2–7, including packet filtering, protocol validation, and content inspection.
  • Performance & Security Optimization: Achieve low-latency, high-throughput data transfer while maintaining compliance with security frameworks (e.g., Common Criteria, NIST).
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Deploy Cross Domain Solutions & Services using Docker and orchestrate with Kubernetes or Docker Swarm, ensuring hardened configurations and RBAC.
  • Secure Messaging: Architect and maintain messaging systems using RabbitMQKafka, or Redis, with emphasis on integrity, confidentiality, and controlled release.
  • Compliance & Assurance: Implement secure coding practices, encryption (TLS/mTLS), and auditing mechanisms aligned with cybersecurity standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with security architects, compliance teams, and government stakeholders to meet accreditation requirements.

 

Technical Expertise

  • Networking & Security:
  • OSI Layers 2–7, secure protocol handling (TLS/mTLS, IPsec), packet filtering, DPI.
  • Network segmentation, VLANs, firewall rules, and zero-trust principles.
  • Secure Messaging:
  • Encryption, authentication, and integrity checks on messaging systems.
  • Message filtering and sanitization for cross-domain compliance.
  • Container Security:
  • Hardened Docker/Kubernetes deployments, RBAC, Pod Security Policies, image scanning.
  • Performance & Reliability:
  • Low-latency design, fault-tolerant architectures, and secure failover strategies.
  • Compliance & Auditing:
  • Logging, monitoring, and evidence collection for security accreditation.

 

Qualifications

Experience:

  • 5–8+ years in software engineering, preferably with 2–3+ years in secure networked systems or Cross Domain Solutions environments.

Programming:

  • Proficiency in one or more of: Java (Spring/Spring Boot)GoC#/.NETNode.js (TypeScript/JavaScript), or Python for application components.
  • Proficiency in C/C++Go, or Rust for performance-critical components will be a plus

Cybersecurity Knowledge

  • Containers & Cloud: Experience with KubernetesDocker, and secure container lifecycle management.
  • Messaging Systems: Hands-on with messaging systems such as, but not limited to, RabbitMQKafka, or Redis in secure, high-availability deployments.
  • Mindset: Strong security-first approach, attention to detail, and ability to work in regulated environments.
