Responsibilities:

Productivity:

• Draft, review, and qualify WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications), PQR (Procedure Qualification Records), and WPQR.
• Design welding processes for various metals (carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and exotic alloys) using techniques like SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW

Quality:

• Enforce compliance with international standards and codes such as ASME, AWS, ISO, and API.
• Coordinate and interpret NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) methods including RT, UT, MT, PT, and VT.
• Investigate weld failures, perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)

Safety:

• Conduct RA assessment/ BBS observation/ hazard reporting.
• Participate in department safety work plan.
• Conduct activities which met regulatory requirements.
• Attend VSCC meetings if necessary.

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical or Marine engineering.
• Work experience in Marine industry or Refinery Piping works preferably 4 – 5 years
• Knowledge of Classification requirements; Ship Building Stds.
• Knowledge of Shipboard Piping Systems Design.
• Knowledge of piping systems, control system and their classification requirements.
• AWS Certified Welding Engineer (CWEng) or Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
