Engineer - Tech Innovation & Digitalisation

Responsibilities:

 

  • To collate Digitalisation, Technology & Innovation (T&I) 5-year plan, and track Research & Development (R&D) investment via monthly reporting
  • To drive and track Innovation / R&D programmes and projects
  • To perform technology scouting, to assess technology solution providers
  • To liaise with Group Intellectual Property (IP) committee in Marine IP matters, and to manage Marine IP portfolio
  • To support digitalisation efforts through development of DigiYard and DigiShip concepts, products and solutions.
  • To perform secretariat duties for R&D and Digitalisation committees
  • Consolidate R&D 5 Year Plan, based on inputs from Business Leaders and commercial departments.
  • Report on status of T&I / R&D programmes via OD Monthly Report
  • Drive and facilitate Innovation platform
  • Support and follow-up with past Innovation teams
  • Organise and facilitate new Innovation teams to work on new Innovation projects.
  • Identify suitable Innovation projects, team leaders and members to attend innovation training programmes.
  • Liaise with government agencies for R&D grants and funding
  • Perform new patent filings, ongoing patent renewals and maintenance for Marine
  • Assist stakeholders with management of IP risks and opportunities via IP Portfolio Management SOP
  • Provide patent and IP advisory services
  • Explore digital/software tools to support digital work processes of Marine SG and Environmental Engineering business segments.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Degree in any Engineering fields
  • Relevant experience in engineering systems design or basic degree covering engineering design
  • Possess strong curiosity in new technology developments related to marine related sectors
  • Good knowledge and grasp of Microsoft Office
  • Good interpersonal and negotiation skills to liaise with senior management
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral
  • Team player with the ability to work independently
  • Able to identify and intervene in problem areas with good problem solving and inter-personal skills
  • Able to track Marine developments and relate them to relevant technologies and innovations.
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Able to work independently and with incomplete information

  • Location: Benoi Road (Island-wide transport provided)
  • 5 days work week
  • Working Hours: 7.25am-5pm
