Hardware Engineer

Job Description:

• Design of subsystem electronics according to top-level requirements, analogue, digital and mixed signal circuit design, simulation, schematics capture and PCB layout
• Hands-on prototyping of PCBA, circuit debugging/troubleshooting
• Design verification and planning of test criteria, test protocols and documentation of design specifications
• Anticipate the design risk and implement design risk control measures
• Assist in development and testing of firmware drivers for various subsystem modules and such as sensors and actuators
• Work in conjunction with firmware development team for firmware optimization and firmware/hardware bug resolution
• Manage verification and validation activities of electronics hardware including the performance, reliability and regulatory compliance such as EMC and product safety. Implement design changes to resolve failures in a timely manner
• Actively collaborate with cross functional team members throughout the product lifecycle
• Collaborate/liaise with 3rd party contract manufacturers to oversee the PCBA production, ICT/FCT testing and validation

Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelors/Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
• 2 years of work experience in product development industry
• Entry level are welcome
• Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of analogue and digital circuits. Familiarity with designs involving optoelectronics such as laser diodes, photodiodes is a plus.
• Experience in schematics capture, multilayer PCB layout design using ECAD tools. Altium Designer experience is strongly preferred
• Familiar with standard digital communication interfaces such as SPI/I2C/RS232/RS422/USB etc.
• Excellent communication skills
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision and a strong team player
