IT Business Analyst

The business analyst’s primary objective is to help businesses implement technology solutions in a cost effective way by accurately determining and understanding the requirements of business users in an IT project, and communicating them clearly to stakeholder, facilitator and partners. This includes formally well written requirements documentation, as well as informally through emails, memos and meetings.
 
One of the core skills of business analysts is requirements management – being able to understand and manage business users, helping them articulate their needs and distilling the into accurate and unambiguous requirement specifications that engineers can use to design and build real IT solutions
 
As a Business Analyst, you will take the lead role in:

  • Support project as Software QA Engineer by reviewing the Requirements and validating the Design against Requirements
  • Provide guidance, support and governance of approved IT Processes to Project Management and Application Development teams as Software QA Engineer
  • Ensure full conformance to approved IT Project Management and Application Development processes to minimize audit findings by Internal / External auditors as Software QA Engineer
  • Collaborate with Project Manager and Application Development/Support Manager to prepare the Test Plan/Strategy and test scripts as Software Test Engineer
  • Responsible for designing and execution of critical functional test cases as Software Test Engineer
  • Support User Acceptance Testing
  • Provide test reports and results to key project stakeholders i.e. Project Manager, Application Development Manager, Business Lead(s) etc as Software Test Engineer
  • Preferred to have DevSecOps experience using automation tools(testing)

 

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Degree in Information Technology Management, Business Information Technology Management or equivalent.
  • Professional qualification in Business Analysis or Software Engineering preferred
  • At least 5 years’ experience in developing business analysis documentation for major IT systems 
  • Experience in use of requirements modelling tools such as Rational or Visual Paradigm would be an advantage
  • IT Project Management qualification or experience would be an advantage
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent technical writing skills
  • Good understand of systems engineering concepts
  • Knowledge of requirements documenting methodologies such as UML
  • Business modelling techniques and methods
  • Ability to conduct cost/benefits analysis
  • Understand how to calculate project feasibility and rate of returns
  • Able to develop and present business case and justifications
