Senior Engineer

Main Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to engine operations such as
    • Prescribing engine workscope
    • Performs engine trending/analysis
    • Troubleshooting and tooling designs
    • Written reports – Prelim and Final Engine Condition
    • Evaluate the testing data for test certification
    • Conduct 1st Article of production/maintenance/repair/new tooling activities.
    • Developed shop best practices to achieve operational outcomes in a cost-effective manner and to avoid cost of poor quality.

Major Challenges

  • Provide Engineering supports such as
    • Develop, manage, maintain, and report program status and progress according to engineering key performance indicators.
    • Maintain the engineering files / folders accountability and update of technical database such as Technical Memo, Engineering Bulletin, Drawing, Equivalent Tool list
    • Be a qualified trainer on his subject matters experts to train executives and technicians.
  • Project Management of the set-up of a LEAP-1X engine Quick Turn and full line MRO capability; Managing the engineering capability to meet engine OEM and regulatory requirements.


Engineering Leadership

  • To be able to assist the Section Head as required.
  • Provide motivational, coaching and guidance to new engineer to create a high performing engineering culture
  • Reinforce high standards regarding safety, quality, customer service, performance, environmental awareness and adherence to company values.
  • Share the technical vision with the team and align operational activities with the company’s quality direction.
  • Create an effective engineering environment that fosters cross learning of technical knowledge across multiple product lines.
  • Be able to make hazard identification and risk assessment  (HIRA) and to train the executives / shop staff on awareness and to improve on product quality.


Business Acumen

  • Should be able to provide technical proposals based on sound justification to Sales opportunities.
  • Should be able to make clear technical recommendation to avoid potential warranty claims and at the same time increasing the sales margin.
  • Assist the operation department to meet output TAT timeframes, quality and cost.
  • Manage operational activities in accordance with contractual requirements and provide contractual reporting as required.


Ensure a quality working environment are maintained

  • Participate in company SQAG as committee member to uphold the safety culture.
  • Participation in company internal Rejection Notice as committee member to understand the cross functional correction/prevention action on internal quality discrepancies and improvement implementation.
  • Clearly send the message through words and actions that operational integrity and workplace safety is everyone’s responsibility.
  • Utilise operational safety procedures consistent with the Environmental Protection Act and Workplace Health & Safety Act and any subsequent related Acts.
  • Be able to identify hazards, and ensure actions are taken to report, eliminate, isolate or minimise.
  • Actively ensure the safety and security of all people, assets, systems and procedures engaged in or associated with own area of responsibility or otherwise under own control or influence.

  • Keep abreast of industry trends, developments, and knowledge by reading publications, networking and contributing to relevant groups and forums
  • Proactively engage in professional development.
  • Ensure that technical skills, competencies, and knowledge are kept current and well maintained.
