Role Summary:

As an Material Engineer, you will be pivotal in driving innovation and excellence within our engineering projects. The role involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and implement advanced materials that meet stringent performance and safety standards.

Job Description:

• Design, develop, and improve advanced material systems tailored for applications including but not limited to defence and public security.
• Perform detailed analysis and testing to ensure materials meet required physical, chemical, and mechanical properties.
• Engage in the full product development lifecycle including concept generation, prototyping, testing, and production support.
• Collaborate with internal teams such as research and development, manufacturing, and quality assurance to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and material science advances relevant to the defence sector, applying this knowledge to project development.
• Prepare comprehensive technical documentation and reports for internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Support continual improvement initiatives to enhance processes, reduce costs, and improve product reliability and durability.
• For Senior Engineer roles, provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support leadership in project planning and execution.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in Materials Science & Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Engineering Product Development, Engineering Systems and Design and/or a related discipline. 
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. Solidworks) will be highly advantageous.
• Proficiency in analysing material performance and applying engineering principles to solve complex challenges.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
• Problem-solving mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous learning.
• Experience with project management and familiarity with quality systems will be advantageous.
• Willing to travel for field testing and supplier engagement.
