Role Overview
As an Assistant Principal Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems within the Environmental Engineering Division. Your expertise will be vital in supporting environmental compliance projects, optimizing system performance, and ensuring that engineering solutions meet both regulatory and operational requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the mechanical engineering design and analysis for environmental control systems, including but not limited to pollution control, waste management, and emission reduction technologies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated solutions that meet stringent environmental regulations and customer specifications.
- Conduct technical assessments and contribute to feasibility studies, risk assessments, and lifecycle analyses of mechanical systems.
- Oversee the preparation of detailed engineering documentation, specifications, and reports to support project execution and compliance audits.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of professional development and knowledge sharing.
- Engage with external stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and clients to ensure alignment with environmental policies and standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing engineering processes, safety standards, and environmental outcomes.
Requirements:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline with strong emphasis on environmental applications.
- Extensive experience in mechanical engineering roles, preferably within the marine or environmental sectors.
- Proficiency in engineering software tools for modelling, simulation, and design analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations, standards, and best practices relevant to mechanical systems.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Proven leadership capabilities, including project management and team collaboration.
- Commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
