Responsibilities:
Safety:
- Attend daily VSCC for the project assigned and apply Permit-To-work, if necessary.
- Enforce strict compliance of Permit-To-Work System among all the personnel under your charge.
- Conduct daily check on- site to ensure safe work condition, and all Permit-To-Work are complied. Work is carried out safely by the workers. This daily check should be conducted upon the start and end of the work period (e.g. break time and shift change)
- Check and enforce proper work site housekeeping and ensure that department personal under your supervision are using appropriate PPEs.
- Identify all the risks associated with the work site and brief your workers on the risk assessment before starting work.
Schedule:
- Always plan your work ahead for the project assigned, including planning for equipment, spares and materials.
- Check and monitor daily work progress and update work plan to meet project schedule.
- Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials and services required by operations.
- Coordinate with production, planning, and engineering teams to understand support requirements and adjust resources accordingly.
Productivity:
- Brief your Engineer and Chargehand on detailed work requirement, procedures and deadline.
- Assign daily or half day job targets (job card) to your Engineer.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining service quality.
- Identify the work tasks that need the support of other trades (e.g. temporary lighting, staging, removal of insulation and etc.) and coordinate with the relevant departments for such work to be performed smoothly.
- Re-assign your Chargehand and workers if they are unable to perform the assigned work due to unforeseen circumstances.
Leadership AND Supervision:
- Assign and lead a team of engineers and workers to perform on-site repair works in a safe and efficient way.
- Involve in meeting with customers related to ship defect & other related issues.
- Lead, coach, and mentor departmental staff for performance and skill development.
Requirements:
- Degree/Diploma in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Preferably with 5 years’ working experience in a shipyard or a similar capacity.
- Knowledge of painting, staging operation and able to interpret technical drawings and paint specification.
- Demonstrated ability to lead engineering projects and manage complex technical issues.
- Good leadership, customer-orientated and able to communicate well with all levels.
- Willing to work overtime and on weekend when required.
- Possesses SAP knowledge is an added advantage

- Location: Pioneer Sector (Daily Transportation Reimbursed To and Fro)
- 5 days work week
- Working Hours: 7.45am-5pm
