Responsibilities

Lead, supervise, and coordinate daily lifting operations ensuring adherence to safety regulations and operational protocols.
Develop and implement effective lifting plans considering load characteristics, environmental conditions, and resource availability.
Conduct risk assessments and safety checks prior to lifting activities, ensuring all safety standards are met or exceeded.
Manage, mentor, and train lifting teams to maintain high performance, safety awareness, and professional growth.
Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to optimize lifting processes and equipment usage.
Maintain accurate records of lifting operations, incidents, and inspections, reporting to senior management as required.
Ensure proper maintenance and inspection schedules for all lifting equipment are followed in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Assist in the development and continuous improvement of safety policies, procedures, and training programs related to lifting operations.
Respond promptly to operational issues, troubleshooting challenges to minimize downtime and maintain project schedules.

Requirements

Proven experience in supervising lifting operations, preferably within the marine or heavy industry sector.
Strong knowledge of lifting equipment, rigging techniques, and relevant safety standards (e.g., Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations, local maritime safety guidelines).
Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and enforce compliance with safety protocols.
Good organisational skills and the capacity to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
Familiarity with marine logistics and operations is highly advantageous.
Relevant certifications in lifting operations supervision or safety management are preferred.
